Octave Lapize (October 24, 1887July 14, 1917) was a French professional road racing cyclist and track cyclist who is most famous for winning the 1910 Tour de France and a bronze medal at the 1908 Summer Olympics in the Men's 100 kilometres. In addition, he is a 3-time winner of the one-day classic, Paris-Roubaix.

He was born in Montrouge and died in Toul.

A fighter pilot in the French army of the First World War, Octave Lapize was shot down near Flirey, Meurthe-et-Moselle on June 28, 1917. Severely injured, he died in a hospital in Toul.

He is noted for looking at some Tour officials on the climb of the Col du Tourmalet in the 1910 Tour de France and yelling, "Vous êtes des assassins! Oui, des assassins!' (French for 'You are murderers! Yes, murderers!')"[1]
