[edit] Levy Dispute

For years, Northwest has gone without a levey passing, but in 2007, after a final recount and a margin of two votes, Northwest finally passed a tax levy.

[edit] Extracurriculars

Northwest High School offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including National Honors Society, Key Club, International Society, Academic Quiz Team, Yearbook, Newspaper, and various musical programs.

[edit] Sports

Northwest offers students the chance to participate in the major sports of baseball, softball, basketball, track and field, cross country, soccer, and football, as well as some less-widespread ones like swimming, golf, bowling, and tennis.

Northwest competes in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Scarlet Division along with Ross, Norwood, Mt. Healthy, Edgewood, and Talawanda.

Football is the only sport in which the Knights are placed in Division II, all other sports are Division I.

Every sport gives out the prestigious "Knight Award" to the most valuable athlete in his or her respective sport.

[edit] Fight Song

A tradition among most Northwest sports teams is the singing of the Northwest fight song after a competition, win or lose. Hail to the Victors is patterned after the fight song from the University of Michigan.

HAIL TO THE VICTORS

Hail to the victors valiant! Hail to the conquering heroes! Hail! (Hail) Hail! (Hail) The Northwest Knights The Leaders and the best (Rah! Rah! Rah!) Fire up Northwest Go! Fight! Win! We've done before We'll do it again So fight! (fight!) Fight! (fight!) The Blue and Gold go on to victory! Hey!
