[edit] COTF
Hey... wow time really does fly when you're not having fun... I've got loads of work that's piling up, including my undergrad research project. I'll pick one soon, don't worry. - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 03:28, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] ROUND 8 WP:UNI/COTF
| The current University Collaborations of the Fortnight are: | ||
|---|---|---|
| Editor Nominated Topic | Kennesaw State University | |
| B-Class Improvement Drive | Columbia University | |
| Start/Stub Improvement Drive | Chulalongkorn University | |
|
Every fortnight three higher education-related topics, stubs, or red linked articles are chosen for you to improve. Be bold! |
||
OK... so Columbia's a B-class article looking at FA nomination. Let's see if we can push it through FAN! (And good luck to anyone who speaks Thai and can translate the Thai version of Chulalongkorn University article into English) See you all 5 days before tax day (for those of us who are US taxpayers)! - Jameson L. [edit] AFD of Kennesaw State University Student Recreation Center
Why list this article for deletion but not the others like it such as the one from your university or at GA Tech? --Jerm (Talk/ Contrib) 13:15, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Other crap exists, and I can't find all of them to delete when I delete one. Also, all articles are not the same, as some might lack notability while others do not. If you want to nominate other articles for deletion that you think fail the notability guideline, feel free. Hope this helps.—Noetic Sage 14:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- I am good. I try not to be a deletionist. --Jerm (Talk/ Contrib) 14:22, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP:UNI/D
Hey, on the date listings, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FITcon was nominated on March 25th, so should I list it under March 25th or April 2nd? (Maybe clarify that on the page's instructions too? :D) Thanks. - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 14:08, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tool2Die4
You are fast! Tool2Die4 (talk) 20:14, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I am, so please stop removing speedy deletion templates. It is much appreciated. Thanks.—Noetic Sage 20:17, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Bobst Boy
I never said to delete the article, but its such a minor event that it doesnt belong in the NYU navigation template. RogueNinjatalk 01:15, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] University AFDs
Hello. It seems some of the university-related AFDs are having trouble gaining enough discussion to form a consensus. I thought you might want to voice your opinion on these AFDs: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Student Action, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indiana University Student Association, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Associated Students of the University of Hawaii. Thanks!--SevernSevern (talk) 17:07, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Good B-School Articles
I noticed that you rated the UIUC College of Business page with a B. I appreciate your input and agree with your assessment. Can you point me to a good B-School article? I want to raise the bar.H.al-shawaf (talk) 17:48, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- There's an entire list of B-class University articles, but I think a particularly good one is Harvard University. If you want help on what to do to improve your article, take a look at WP:UNI's article guidelines or what it takes to be a Good Article.—Noetic Sage 20:51, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- I was aware of that category. However, I was more interested in ones rated higher than a "B". I did find the Tuck School of Business, which has featured status. I was also confused as to why Harvard was rated a "B". It seems like it deserves a higher rating.H.al-shawaf (talk) 00:35, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- To get higher than a B-class rating, an article has to pass Good Article status. It must be independently reviewed. Check out the WikiProject Universities project, specifically the Assessment department to get some more insight as to how articles are rated and which are good. We also have a list of accomplishments there.—Noetic Sage 01:27, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Student Government AFDs
Hello. I have proposed a change to the student government/student union section under Common Deletion Outcomes, and I would like your input. Thanks! User:SevernSevern aka Flunkerton (talk) 17:49, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
How does this sound for WP:OUTCOMES?
"The notability of student unions may vary between different counties and different universities. A case-by-case demonstration of notability for each student union should be the prime determining factor in each AFD"

[edit] Speedy deletion of International Association of Torch Clubs
A tag has been placed on International Association of Torch Clubs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 16:12, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
