Noel A. M. Gaylor

Noel A. M. Gaylor was a Vice-admiral of the U.S. Navy who served as the sixth director of the U.S. National Security Agency - the chief cryptological intelligence agency under the U.S. Department of Defense - from August 1969 to 1972. He was the recipient of the Navy cross three times. Admiral Gaylor graduated from the US Naval Academy and served on active duty until 1976. He later became a staunch opponent of nuclear weapons.
