Check User
Thank you for pointing out what is clearly a sock. As I've looked through the evidence, it is very telling. This guy is an attacker. Could you have Celona checked against all the other socks and suspected socks of Rastishka? --Jkp212 (talk) 05:36, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Help
{{helpme}} I need someone who is familiar with Infobox templates. Please have a look at [1]. Then have a look at Robert Taylor Homes. Why don't the last two parameters display properly? I tried to muddle my way through this and I'm sure I've forgotten something really stupid and basic. Nobody of Consequence (talk) 20:40, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- It was because the template parameters were switching between underscores and spaces. Although they are the same in page titles, they make a difference in templates. Once I changed them all to spaces, it worked.--Werdan7T @ 21:13, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Returning sockpuppet
TenOfSpades has returned to troll again here as "ElevenOfHearts". Can you please block and look into whether the IP can be dealt with? Cheers, John Smith's (talk) 13:35, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
another sock
There is new user making similar edits to Celona on "communist related" articles, and also to Yarrrow's talk page. Could you do a check user request? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Daver852 --Jkp212 (talk) 07:16, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Sure, if you have more names/IPs, I'd be happy to at least block them all. I just noticed it the other day, when one of the accounts posted the standard "I've given up this account, here's my password" nonsense on a page I watch. I don't know exactly what's going on, but they're definitely being disruptive. I filed a checkuser to see if there is a blockable range or open proxies involved, which might stop the games for at least a little while. Natalie (talk) 16:59, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Deerprints
This was the entire deleted content:
The official newspaper of Deerfield High School (Illinois)
I doubt that a high school student newspaper is notable, but go ahead and give it a shot... NawlinWiki (talk) 21:05, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- Haha okay, thanks. I figured there was at least something worthwhile there. Nobody of Consequence (talk) 21:06, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Ostap R's user page
Its not really a good idea to ever refactor another user's page or talk page. If they do something inappropriate, there are administrative avenues to pursue to address the problem. It is not within our purview as editors to do so, and is seen as very uncivil; indeed, they are often seen as personal attacks. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 18:28, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Er, how about here? Specifically, that part about "threats of (or) vandalism to userpages or talk pages". Additionally, what you replaced the removed text with was not of the user's creation, and the phrase, "On Wikipedia, ignorance is strength" was not meant to educate the user but instead as a dig. Most uncool. Hence, my comment. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 18:34, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Policy
First of all, I wasn't all het up about it or whatever. It seemed to be uncool, and if I withheld some AGF, I sincerely apologize.
Hmm, I guess I am trying to figure out what you thought the policy violation was. Maybe I'm dense, or its Monday, or the Bavarian Illuminati are messing with my cortex, but I wasn't seeing it. I mean, this is clearly a vio, but no one has removed it as such. Maybe tell me what you think the vio was, and if what I pointed to is a further extrapolation of the problem you are seeing. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 22:12, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Was this a zen reply, like the sound of one hand clapping? I am unsure where the noted reply is, NoC... - Arcayne (cast a spell) 04:08, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- (ec) Well, he seemed to be involved in a dispute with some other editors and the modified userboxes, while amusing, seemed to me to be a kind of passive-aggressive attack. It's not unusual at all for someone to become upset and it's nearly as common on Wikipedia for folks to then go and make comments about it on their userpage... I don't think anyone begrudges people their opinion, but the content that existed there was a direct comment on other editors (although they were not named) and appeared to be a violation of WP:SOAP (using one's userpage as a soapbox to make statements political, personal, or otherwise, that could be considered disruptive). As for that page you linked here, you're right, it's definitely a violation. But I don't know how to deal with these situations anymore as it seems like nothing I do is correct. If I remove the offending material myself, I upset people and am reverted. If I post to AN/I asking someone to look into it, they tell me it's not an administrative matter and I should ask the person nicely to remove the material themself. If I ask the editor to remove the material from their own page, they refuse to do so, feel attacked and escalate to an angry dispute 100% of the time (this based on my personal experience). Nobody of Consequence (talk) 04:10, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- And I guess my response was pretty much more of the same. Sorry about that. Tell you what. In the future, if you run across a page that you think is a vio. drop me a line, and if I agree, I'll share the load with you; a burden shared by two is twice as likely to get resolved the right way. I think what the proper procedure is - learned from hard experience - is to ask the user if they think their page is a vio, after pointing out (politely) what policies you think it violates. If they blow you off for more than a day, or refuse to address the problem, then you take it to both RfC-users as well as AN/I. Point out that you attempted to resolve the issue yourself, but were unsuccessful. I would also point out that our user spaces are not our own, and - just like users cannot use copywritten material on their user pages, that which users add to their user spaces has to follow wiki rules as well.
- If you want me to put my money where my mouth is, we can work on that page I pointed out earlier together. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 04:22, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Steve Dahl photos
Thanks. It was well overdue for some photos. I had the opportunity to take a few, so I did. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 14:20, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- What do you think of moving the Disco Demolition section up higher in the Steve Dahl article so that it's in more chronological order? On one hand, I think it would make the article flow better, but on the other, I'm not sure about making it a subsection of his radio career. Thoughts? Jauerbackdude?/dude. 16:30, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Dahl GA
I think the chances are pretty good. Of course, I don't have a lot of experience with creating or evaluating good articles, but it does seems to meet the criteria. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 04:41, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Nobody of Consequence/Archives/2008 ... I hate to disturb you, but I just wanted Some Other Editor to take a look at ... do you think that it can be saved, or is the subject just not notable enough to try?

Hello nobody, I do not know how to add references to a page. Can you explain to me how this works and also how to add links to outside sites for entries. THanks Tariqbiz89 —Preceding comment was added at 07:39, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Wally Phillips
If you get a chance, could you take a look at this article and see if you could improve in any way? It was a stub when I found it a few days ago, and I've since expanded it. However, I'm stuck in a couple of ways. 1. The "Radio career" section seems to be getting a bit long, but I can't think of a great way to break it up further. 2. The "Personal life" section seems rather bland and more of a trivia section. 3. I want to mention Steve Dahl's parody of him as mentioned in an few articles about him. For instance, "For those of a certain age, memories of Phillips are colored by "Oh, Wally," a parody from younger, one-time rival Steve Dahl set to the tune of "Mandy," in which a lovesick listener from Tinley Park calls her AM idol for travel information, companionship and maybe dinner or some other freebie. But Phillips was a pioneer in territory Dahl, Jonathon Brandmeier and Howard Stern later explored."[1] I don't know where to put it. I'm torn between the "Radio career" section and the "Personal life" section. These are just a few examples. Anyway, any input you could give would be appreciated.
