[edit] 3RR violation in Tamil people
User:Paul Raj, aka User:Vaikunda Raja uses his real userid as well as a number of ips in the range 61.1.210.xxx has been inserting links to Ayyavazhi in numerous articles despite the community's concerns about its notability and the appropriateness for inclusion in a summary article. This user has created dozens of articles on thie 'religion' and inserted numerous links from unrelated articles. He will not listen to reason. He has violated 3RR in Tamil people: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5].
Some stern admin action needs to be taken. Thanks Parthi talk/contribs 19:22, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- He has been blocked for 24h: [6]
- However something needs to be done to mentor this user. - Parthi talk/contribs 22:13, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- I was blocked for 24 hours complaining as 'I violated the 3RR'. Please see what had happened before that.
-
- Three districts are declared as a holiday by the govt for an Ayyavazhi festival in Swamithope. More over many unversity books as well as historians published books as Ayyavazhi as an autonomouse religion by its elements (scriptures, ideology...) . I cited all thease things with University papers and historian views many many times earlier to the same user. See [7] [8] [9][10] [11](scroll down) He then remain quite for some times and after a day or two without any discussion he use to remove Ayyavazhi. Please see the edit summary. In every my reverts, I asked them to discuss before reverting. No one User:Bharatveer and User:Venu62 replied but reverted. Starting from here to here they reverted five times (with in 24 hours) and removed the contents cited with university papers as sources. Since they two have collectively six (3+3) Reverts, they complain myself as violating the 3RR rule.
-
- Once again please see the edit summary i've written in each of my edits. When Bharatveer felt that he was personally attacked by my self I went to his user page and apologises for that. Even then no one discussed on that topic, but User:Venu62 reverted continuusly without discussing.
-
- If the rules of wiki is so, then if two users decided to revert a third persons edit, they can going on edits closely following him. Since these two guys collectively can revert (3+3) times then the third person would be marked as violating and could be blocked. No matter about the valid citations and the references.
-
- Also I noticed commonly, this user User:Venu62 use to note this What links here section of Ayyavazhi page and complain to many user as spamm spammer etc... I was intrested in Ayyavazhi. So Iam writing Ayyavazhi articles. And I give appropriate links form other topics. One who is intrested in Hinduism will edit and write many hiduism related wors, and who is intrested towards India, then he will contribute to Indian works. They use to spend more effort and time the more they are devoted to the topic. If it was called as spamm then Indian users want to be called as Indian spammers, and Hindu users should be called as Hindu spammers and etc...
-
- If Tamil Nadu is a state in India, then unavoidably it should be be noted in India article as its Sub-national entity. As if Ayyavazhi is a religion it needs a mention in appropriate religion related article. I've already cited with even University papers for its notablility, its spread across South India etc.. Also even a few thousand jains are noticed in the article. But Ayyavazhi with majory followers in Three districts are unnotable for them.
-
- Let this 3RR matter away. He asked my self to be noted as "However something needs to be done to mentor this user" Iam asking, "to note as what?" "As as an International Criminal?".
-
- I've tried many times to tell this to him. How ever he don't understand. - Paul 02:12, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- Also with the previously mentioned citations Iam going to revert the Tamil People article. I request, Please watch what is happening. - Paul 02:13, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- Also he told in the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/3RR as, "He will not listen to reason as numerous discussions". I answered to every users. See here. - Paul 02:30, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- User:Venu62 have reverted my edits and in the edit summary he noted, "You may have cited it, but it is irrelevant to this article. We cannot include each and every sect present in Tamil Nadu into this article".
-
-
-
-
- That is what i cited with university papers. For the 'thousands of worship centers' (notability) and for the Autonomous structure of the religion (not a sect). Iam reverting the article. Please help - Paul 09:05, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
-
-
- The other user User:Bharatveer now reverted the page without discussion. Please help. I made university papers as citations; I was blocked for 24 hours. see what is going on here They are not discussing even but reverting Please help. - Paul 09:41, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Formation in India Infobox & the word 'Expelled'
NichalP,
You may like to read my User_talk:Himalayanashoka bottom part. I have explained about the need to present Indic views and not to take Eurocentric imposed on literature because they all originated from UK. Minute changes like British EIC and British Crown must be denigrated and blanketed as "non-natives" (with no special treatment) alongside other invaders PT, NL, FR, DK etc.
I once again emphasize that India page has to present non-nationalistic Indic views regardless of literature references. And I ask you to unprotect the page so that the changes can be made.
Regards, Himalayanashoka 07:32, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Moving Duars to Dooars
Pls. help me in moving the page Duars to Dooars. This is needed as the area is more popularly using the spelling Dooars, newspaper like The Telegraph also using the spellin , government website also use this spelling, search result in google shows more pages of Dooars. [edit] Doing something about the ridiculous date autoformatting/linking mess
Dear Nichalp—you may be interested in putting your name to, or at least commenting on this new push to get the developers to create a parallel syntax that separates autoformatting and linking functions. IMV, it would go a long way towards fixing the untidy blueing of trivial chronological items, and would probably calm the nastiness between the anti- and pro-linking factions in the project. The proposal is to retain the existing function, to reduce the risk of objection from pro-linkers, and to keep the issue simple.
Your support would be particularly important given your role in WP. Tony 05:29, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Blank world map & neutrality
Hi, and thanks for your input - the effort I put in to the maps was mostly programming - stripping the data we didn't need out of other sources and combining that with other data we needed. I put very little effort into trying to ensure the data was up to date and NPOV, however, User:Canuckguy did, and has addressed this particular problem as of about 2 weeks ago. You can see his version at Image:BlankMap-World6.svg, and please do use it! Brianski 10:23, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hoysala Empire
Thank you for the wonderful map you drew up. I wish I knew how to do this. I edited the image caption to call it "Core area" because coastal Karnataka ruled by the Alupas and "Santharas" were staunch feudatories/allies of the Hoysalas, paying tribute and so on. Also, please stretch the shaded areas slightly to the left as shown in your include file to include their home base Hassan district, Chikmagalur district(Hoysala map)Thanks.Dineshkannambadi 14:12, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi Nicholas! Because of your knowledge of cricket, how to make maps and superb writing skills, I was wondering if you have the time whether you can give Cricket World Cup a thorough copyedit and create an image similar to these two images: this one from the FIFA World Cup and this one from the Rugby World Cup. Please tell me if you have commitments. Thank you very much! GizzaChat © 22:39, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "Remove Protection"

- No problem. I've made changes to the lead in the manner we had talked about. The Taj and Ajanta references are gone, and so has the sentence about the "emerging superpower." I've also changed "Colonised by the BEI Company ..." to "Politically controlled by the BEI Company ..." Although the latter is a mouthful, it is more accurate, according to my history texts. [edit] Bad Idea?
I could use an assist (maybe two). I have a pet peeve, and thought I'd come up with a good concept for making chides to editors who leave incomplete documentation trails by creating sort of a wet diaper award. It seems to be drawing some adverse reactions, and even before I'd spammed a request to some others like this for brainstorming on how to shorten same and evolve it, as I'm not happy with it either. Subsequently, it's already drawn fire (here) before I could ask in help and get suggestions. Can you take a look and comment here. There has to be some way to let people know 'shallow edit actions' that reflect poorly on our pages need a talk note justification, no exceptions, thankyou. Much appreciated // FrankB 23:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A Request from an "old friend"
Hey Nichalp... I see you've risen up the ranks of Wikipedia and done some great things... congratulations... I wanted to make a request to you that you delete all the information on my user page (LordSuryaofShropshire) that is personal and, because my name, Surya, is part of the alias, to do a rename... you could make it LordSimonofShropshire... basically, I understand that you can't completely obliterate the account's connection to however many edits it's responsible for, but I do know as well that Wiki's got provisions for wanting to vanish... I want my photo, my name, all personal info, deleted forever from the page... so, tell me what you can do, or where you can direct me to, and I'd be really grateful. Thanks. --LordSuryaofShropshire 07:41, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help, Nichalp... I've officially made a request on the page you mentioned. Yes, I'm done with Wiki... gotta finish college and focus on it... my name and a lot of my info was way too easily Google-able for comfort... anyway, thanks again in advance. --LordSuryaofShropshire 22:20, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help Reqd
You page is incredible you have over 10000 edits and you are truly great. So many stars appeared great to me .Congrats. 1:There is a page called Periyar Ramasami .Here It is potentially libellous allegations without any any citations which I have asked for.The wording are not encyclopedic. Periyar being likened to Hitler is potentially libellous as Hitler was responsible for millions of deaths whereas Periyar was not guilty or accused of even one. Please go through this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periyar_Ramasami#Leader_of_Dravidar_Kazhagam Can I remove comments like those ? This Page has been vandalised many times the last one by today.
2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hereditary_Education_Policy This has been vandalised by the same person from 3 IP address

Look I asked him to do positive edits not negative edits by removing content. Please help.Harlowraman 19:31, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Could you pleaes have a look...
Hi! Could you please have a look at Wikipedia:Featured article review/Tamil people? It's been there for 2 weeks, and it's time either to move for FARC or archive. [edit] CHU Template
Just wanted to drop you a courtesy note that I changed a couple of the no template responses on CHU; I usually see two or three a day that have spaces in thier usernames, and have forgotten to put the underscores in, thus breaking the links. I usually just fix them and move on, rather than using the no template message, since they usually have used the template, just didn't do it quite right. Anyhow, I wanted you to know that I'd fixed a couple and went ahead and performed the changes. Essjay (Talk) 23:28, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Paulins Kill Featured Article Candidacy
I thank you for your comments and suggestions on how to improve the Paulins Kill article in order to make it worthy of being named a Featured Article.
So far, I think all the issues have been addressed with the sole exception of the listy Flora and fauna section. Now there are two ideas on how to tackle that, and there are possibly others. If you could weigh in on what the preferrable method to tackle this in the next day or two, I'll be able to fix it before Christmas. Also, in addition, if you could take a second look at the article and its candidacy and examine whether the edits made in response to the FAC page comments address your concerns adequeately, I'd be much obliged. —ExplorerCDT 01:58, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- Since it was my suggestion, I put the flora and fauna into the Paulins Kill article and wondered if you would like to take a look (saw your comment on ExplorerCDT's talk page). Thanks, Ruhrfisch 02:37, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
As all issues you raised concerning the candidacy of Paulins Kill as a Featured Article have been addressed, would you please consider changing your opposition to support? —ExplorerCDT 12:38, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Donations
This isn't about Wikipedia, but since nobody is responding in Wikimedia about a suggestion, I thought I'd say this to you as u r a bureaucrat and maybe u can put it in the right places. the forms for donations include paypal etc. but there is no egold. I prefer this one to donate but there is not facility to do so (I don't like paypal and moneybookers etc. and don't use a CC and too lazy for the other methods.) Could you make sure you can add that or atleast tell them to add that, because I know many use this egold. Tx Idleguy 05:25, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
