Phinn joined Dunfermline from Hearts Boys Club, progressing up the ranks until he made his first team debut against Hearts in 2004.He has impressed in the times he had has a chance and is highly rated at Dunfermline Athletic^[1] On the 7^th of March 2008, manager Jim McIntyre confirmed that Phinn had signed a two-year contract extension.^[2]^[3]
