[edit] NHL 08 Cover
Why is it a xbox 360 cover? Just dont put any title for the game system, leave it blank you agree anyone?> —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.243.85.184 (talk) 21:28, 11 September 2007 (UTC) I'm pretty sure that you can't create a team or player like advertised on the website while using a PS2, and theres no skill stick or goalie mode either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.224.146.139 (talk) 20:30, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Previously unsectioned comments
Some of these reviews and specs on the old NHL Hockey games by EA Sports are great but they leave out important factors. NHL 95 has totally different gameplay, it doesn't feel like any of the other games earlier in the series. Also, NHL 95 on the SNES was the only version you could create and trade players, PC version aside.
Overall, I think NHL 94 on the Sega CD is the best version of NHL 94 and it's one of the best hockey games to date, I don't feel that new hockey games like NHL 2004 have the same gameplay. Too much flash and glamor, too many buttons you never use... Pass, check and shoot is all you really need in a hockey game.
I agree. This page is extremely vague when it comes to the older (and better) versions of the game. I think that some of the earlier games (especially NHL 94) should warrant its own page.4.172.153.142 23:50, 11 December 2006 (UTC)-
-- You could create players on NHL 95 for the Genesis.
And I'm pretty darn sure it's John Davidson doing the commentary for the PSX version in 97
[edit] Redirection of NHL 2K6
When looking for NHL 2K6, this article on the EA Sports NHL series appears. However, NHL 2K6 is the first NHL game published under the 2K Sports banner, and should not redirect to EA's series. It should be redirected to another site related to the 2K series.
- Thanks. I've changed the redirect to point to 2K Games instead. Since there's only one game in that series so far (and no article on 2K Sports), that's probably the best place to point the redirect for the time being. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 03:22, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NHL Hockey 93 for the PC
Just thought I'd say this article doesn't mention NHL Hockey for the PC (1993). It had a full season , one timers, and player creation all before the consoles had it (I think). I believe it was developed separately from the console versions.

How come there is no mention of the tricks? That was an important part of the nhl franchise? Triple deke and wraparound!
[edit] Memorable Quotations
Just removed this from the page — is there any real reason to keep it? It seems awfully unencylopedic.Michael DoroshTalk 04:53, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Disamb link at top
Wouldn't it be a good idea to put a link at the top of the page for people who ended up here when looking for the actual NHL. Several article titles, such as NHL 07, could just as well be about the real life hockey season, at least in the minds of people who aren't familiar with the video game market.... /85.194.44.18 20:50, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- To be honest, I don't think anyone would call the 2006-07 NHL season or the 2007-08 NHL season "NHL 07" as that makes no sense. At least not in my mind. Bsroiaadn 02:55, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

The IP 67.184.55.169 changed Markus Naslund to "poo Naslund." Kal 22:08, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah, that's fucking hilarious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hockeyalltheway25 (talk • contribs) 18:46, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] help
I have NHL 2005 for Gamecube and I knoew this is to change the page, but in he shootouts it makes you be the goalie for your team and I don't know how to make save. All I can do is try to get in the way of the puck. Does anyone here know how to? 70.100.165.76 01:04, 11 February 2007 (UTC) Response: This isn't ign.com
What do the +/- numbers mean? Cubs Fan 16:15, 27 February 2007 (UTC) Plus or minus. If a player is on the ice and his team gets scored against, he gets a -. If he is on the ice and his team scores, he gets a +. The league average is around -1, and the leader is around +38. burgz (Talk) 08:50, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Playable AHL
There's a line under NHL 08 that says it is not known whether or not the AHL will be playable. This link:http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=7876 says that it is fully playable. Just thought I'd let you know, so I'll make the edit now...
[edit] Wii port of NHL 08?
Just wondering about this. Under the information box for NHL 08, it says that EA Canada is developing PS3, Xbox360, and Wii versions, and that the Wii port release date is February 2008. It also lists the Wii as a platform, and the Wii remote and nunchuck as input devices.
Can someone please post a reference for this? I wish it were so (as a Wii owner and hockey fan), but I haven't seen anything on the internet to indicate that EA is working on a Wii port of NHL 08. If there is no evidence of a forthcoming Wii port, then the Wii should probably be removed from the list of platforms for this game.140.251.125.50 19:09, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Matt
Actually, according to this page [1], there will (tragically) be no Wii port of NHL 08. So I am removing information about it from the article, unless someone can produce any evidence that there will be a Wii port.140.251.125.50 20:20, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Matt
[edit] Infobox
The infobox is for NHL '08, but this article is about the whole series. It needs to be generalised. Hairy Dude 01:44, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] EA Hockey relegated to European only release status?
EA Hockey was released in North America long before Europe, as well it was the first game in this series. Whomever is writing this series article seriously needs to check out the reality of the series.
EA Hockey was first, NHL Hockey came afterwards. Do you even play these games? Inferior EA Hockey gameplay compared to NHL Hockey makes this quite evident.
1. EA Hockey was released in North America. 2. EA Hockey was first introduced to North America. 3. EA Hockey was Electronic Art`s first hockey game. 4. NHL Hockey was released after EA hockey`s first quarter '91 release. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.48.153.94 (talk) 21:09, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] NHL_series#Reviews_and_awards
I changed the review scores to a table format. Normally the template I used floats to the right, but when I put it in, it was being floated to the left of the game infobox, which looked kinda ugly. So I aligned it left and used a {{clear}} to make sure the next section started on a new line below the table. If the reviews and awards subsection gets more info in the future, I'm thinking the box could be moved back to the default right side.--Rockfang (talk) 07:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Split
Does anyone else think it should be split? FIFA and Madden get their own, why not NHL? Can't even include the soundtracks anywhere here, either. FogDevil 00:13, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
That's true. It's a little unfair to keep the games with little info. Maybe bring it up to an Wikiproject Ice hockey admin to see if these points are good enough to split the games in their own article. Especially when we need an infobox on the games too. The article will never be a good article if it keeps this same thing going. --Hasek is the best (talk) 02:11, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
