Did Cuomo (and the rest) really take office the day after election day? This seems implausible on its face. The new governor doesn't take office until January 1. john k 06:52, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Well observed, John. I fixed this now. The official list at the site confuses the election date with the date of taking office after 1847. It becomes evident at the resignation of Levi S. Chatfield on December 8, 1853, when Ogden Hoffman had been elected already on November 8, but was NOT YET in office. Besides, Cuomo is shown on the NYAG site on a picture taking the oath on January 1, 2007. Kraxler (talk) 19:15, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
