[edit] Going to Town
Someone is saying NHP is a town? And is inside two other towns? And part is in Queens when no article about Queens says so? Perhaps this could be further clarified? Jim.henderson 22:45, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Actually the whole article makes no sense because the title of the article is "New Hyde Park" - but the article is about the "incorporated Village of New Hyde Park", not "New Hyde Park". The Incorporated Village of New Hyde Park resides within New Hyde Park (which is not represented in the article). For example, the map shows New Hyde Park as running from 11th Avenue to somewhere midway between Jericho Turnpike and Hillside Avenue. What this map is showing is the borders of the Village of New Hyde Park since New Hyde Park runs all the way North to Hillside Avenue (and possibly further north if Lakeville Estates is considered New Hyde Park) and all the way east to Denton Avenue - the border of Garden City Park (and possibly as far east as Herricks Road if Herricks is considered part of New Hyde Park). Maybe there needs to be two articles - one for New Hyde Park and one for The Incorporated Village of New Hyde Park.
As far as Queens, NY is concerned, there is in fact a two-or three block stretch that is actually New Hyde Park Queens - specifically, The Langdale Garden Apartments on Langdale Street between Hillside Ave and Union Turnpike. This "New Hyde Park, Queens" has absolutely nothing do with New Hyde Park or the Village of New Hyde Park in Nassau County. 71.183.85.140 (talk) 00:25, 13 March 2008 (UTC)AR
[edit] Source of history information
The history section seems to have been copied verbatim from here by User:141.155.13.200. If this was added by the same author, or if the poster acquired permission, it should be noted here on the talk page. I'm removing the entire section, and adding an external link to the source. -- Samuel Wantman 10:19, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:NHPlogo.gif
Image:NHPlogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
