The New South Wales Swifts are one of 10 netball teams that will compete in the new trans-Tasman ANZ Championship. They are an amalgamation of the Sydney Swifts and Hunter Jaegers from Australia's Commonwealth Bank Trophy. The colours of the new franchise are red and blue. [1]

The Swifts play their home games at 3 different stadiums throughout the season: Acer Arena and Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre, both in Sydney's Olympic Precient at Homebush Bay, as well as at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.

Like the Adelaide Thunderbirds, the West Coast Fever and the Melbourne Vixens, the Swifts have aligned themselves with an AFL club, in this case the Sydney Swans
