New Hanover High School is a high school located in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. New Hanover High is now the oldest present high school built in Wilmington. Recently the original building underwent a complete renovation to update the 1919 school to the 21st century. New Hanover is also the most diverse high school in New Hanover County.The schools ethnicity includes 50% of the school is white, 43% black, 5% Hispanic, 2% other. The school has an enrollment of 1,721 students.

The tradition of Wildcat Athletics is exemplified in the 30 4-A State Championships. These include 13 Boys Basketball, 5 Baseball, 4 Football, 3 Boys Tennis, 3 Softball, and 3 Boys Golf.
