The New Grays Athletic Stadium is a proposed football stadium which would be built in the Aveley area of Thurrock and will replace the New Recreation Ground as the home stadium of Grays Athletic Football Club. The project was announced on April 12, 2008 by Grays Athletic chairman and manager Micky Woodward.[1]
The stadium is intended to have a capacity of 7,500, as well as other facilities such as a leisure centre including a gymnasium and sports hall, two adult size and one children's size artificial turf pitches, function rooms and a bar.[2]
There will also be a residential care home and residential accommodation erected on the complex.
However, the club later announced that the relocation plans to move to Aveley would not be pursued, as they have another unannounced location. The new location is due to be announced towards the end of June 2008.
