Never Buy Texas From A Cowboy is the second album from the American female funk band The Brides of Funkenstein. It was released in November of 1979 by Atlantic Records. On this album, the Brides were a trio consisting of Dawn Silva, Sheila Horne, and Jeanette McGruder. Horne and McGruder had served as background vocalists during the P-Funk concert tours of late 1978 and 1979.

Never Buy Texas From A Cowboy was produced by George Clinton except for "Smoke Signals", which was produced by Clinton and Bootsy Collins, and "Didn't Mean To Fall In Love", which was produced by Ron Dunbar. In 2006, the album had a limited run reissue, then quickly became out of print.
