[edit] Question about the addition of images
How can I add images to a new article I have just written? The picture I was thinking about adding was one I've actually taken myself so there shouldn't be any copyright problems.
It's quite simple: On the left side of the page under the search bar there is "upload file". When you click on that you will come up with this page. There you want to choose the first option "It is entirely my own work" Be sure to read the warnings there - a good file name (something descriptive) - and the proper license (there are 3 to choose from). Click the "browse" to get the correct file name from your computer, add the good file name, put a summary (which should include which article the image is going to be used in), and the dropdown box for the correct license. Click - "upload my file" and you're ready to go.
When you want to add that image into the article, go to the article, find the appropriate place for placement, and then add [[Image: WHATEVER YOU NAMED IT]] (don't include the "nowiki"), add your edit summary, preview to see if you have the right size/placement/etc. and then save. If you have any problems with either of those steps, just leave a message on my talk page. SkierRMH (talk) 03:11, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Others can overwrite images?
I've noticed when uploading an image that if I typed in a filename that was previously used by myself (just for curiosity) it said on the bottom to check the image before overwriting. Overwriting was the key word of concern for me - does this mean others can overwrite and ruin your uploads? If they can, can you revert them without re-uploading? Just wondering.
- You can undo edits made to images. One of my image's history for example. I believe this functionality had to be put in to deal with image vandalism. NF24(radio me!) 12:56, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] How to put the two banners on my user page on one line?
{{helpme}} On my user page, I have two advertisement banners for Wikiproject Video Games and Wikiproject PlayStation and they are currently on separate lines. How can I center them and put them all on one line? I tried p align="center" but it didn't work.
- I'm not sure how this can be done; I can do something similar with a wikitable as below if it helps at all.
--Jon186 (talk) 23:09, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, that's perfect. I even helped you modified it a little. -Goodshoped 00:13, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Exploits Valley Mall
A tag has been placed on Exploits Valley Mall requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] AfD nomination of Exploits Valley Mall
I have nominated Exploits Valley Mall, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Exploits Valley Mall. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Easy Come, Easy Go (SATC episode)
Please don't just give "keep" or "delete" without a reason, it's considered bad form. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 03:27, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

- I've fixed that. Thanks for notifying me of this - I'm new to Wikipedia editing, especially AfD nominations so I wasn't aware. ~NeonFire372~ (talk) 00:11, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Grieving Hearts Talk: The Matthew Churchill Story
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Grieving Hearts Talk: The Matthew Churchill Story, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Grieving Hearts Talk: The Matthew Churchill Story. [edit] FAC
Hi, as you have already seen on the FAC page for Grand Theft Auto IV it probably wasn't the best article to nominate for FAC, for various reasons. But generally you want to nominate articles you work on yourself, or at least talk to the regular editors, as with FAC comes a lot of hard work. But also it's a good idea to get an article to GA status first, as if it doesn't pass that it certainly won't become featured. Thanks. Happy editing. John Hayestalk 16:15, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Peer review feedback
Hi, I noticed you have a request in at peer review which has not yet received any response besides the semi-automated script. Have you tried requesting a peer review from the volunteers list? Another idea you might want to try is to review someone else's request (particularly one from the list of requests without responses), then ask that they look at your request. Hope these are helpful suggestions and help to get some feedback for your request soon, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:51, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've requested a peer review from one volunteer and another has posted there since you made this post on my talk page. Thanks for the indication that's there a volunteer page though. ~NeonFire372~ (talk) 22:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Crow Head
Sorry about that, I grabbed the data from another article and some of the variables had escaped me. --HJKeats (talk) 14:27, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- That's alright. I fixed it anyway. ;) ~NeonFire372~ (talk) 14:29, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] WP:MOS
I reverted it because you're typing "XBOX 360" when the manual of style dictates it should be spelled in sentence case ("Xbox 360"). Please do try to assume good faith. Cheers. xenocidic (talk) 02:30, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reverting Multiple Edits
Thank you for correcting the vandalism on the St. John's page. I check the pages on my watchlist for multiple vandalism entries as the LAST changes, and if I find them without a good edit in between, I choose to do a multi-edit undo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Reverting. It can save you time and avoid missing vandalism. --WPaulB (talk) 17:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Gander, Twillingate and Grand Falls-Windsor
Thanks for the kind words. I'll take a stab at the articles you mention. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 16:35, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, while I'm doing this what's the correct name of the harbour in the song, "I'se The B'y"? In the article it's given as Morteon's Harbour but I have Morton's Harbour on a source here at home, however, Moreton's Harbour seems the more popular in Google. Also in the article it appears that the lines given are from seperate song but I thought it was the last two lines of the chorus? CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 17:39, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- There's an e in it and even though I've drove past it probably 5000 times, I have no clue how it's spelled... but Moreton's Harbour looks right. It's definitely not Morton's. It's spelled this way here too. The "Fogo, Twillingate, Moreton's Harbour" is all a line from the same song... NeonFire (talk) 21:45, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I fixed the name. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 22:02, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. It turns out that I was able to find more stuff to add and I'm just working on it. Should have it later today. By the way, I found an external link to back issues (1880s) of the Twillingate Sun. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 13:35, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I just made a really stupid error. I was working on the article at the same time you were but while I was at one of my work sites. I didn't get finished so I saved it off Wikipedia and then started again when I got here. I opened the article up, forgetting to look at the history, and dumped what I had in overwriting your work. So I've rolled it back to your version and will add the stuff in properly this time. Also if you look at the search results for Twillingate I noticed several mentions of "Twillingate District" and "Fogo Twillingate District" which might need a mention in the article. It appears to me to be a pre-Confederation thing. Also looking at the search made me wonder if a List of places on Twillingate Island might be useful. It could contain the communities and geographical places. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 16:08, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

- Yep, I still have that on hand. I was just looking over Wikipedia:Peer review/Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador/archive1 and noticed the comments about the article being at Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador. I just remembered that according to Wikipedia:Canadian Wikipedians' notice board/Style guide#Places it could be moved to Twillingate. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 21:09, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- I still think it would be more properly located at Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador. The province name is important. NeonFire (talk) 21:11, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I wasn't going to move it and I did see that all the redirects were there, but I think that Black Duck Cove, South Twillingate Island, Newfoundland and Labrador needs to be moved to Black Duck Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. I just thought, the two images of the warfs could probably do with better captions.

OK. Do you know how Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro and Newfoundland Power fit together? They are needed in the articles. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 03:39, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't really understand what you mean by how they "fit together"... NeonFire (talk) 02:02, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was wondering if the are related to each other or separate organizations? Also is there a difference between North Twillingate and Twillingate? CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 22:51, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not really sure. There's a south side and north side of Twillingate though it's all the same town. NeonFire (talk) 02:09, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
