Neath Athletic Football Club is a Welsh association football team founded in 2005 following the merger between two clubs, Neath (formerly BP Llandarcy A.F.C.) and Skewen Athletic. The team is based in Neath and played in the Welsh Football League First Division during the season 2006-07. On 3rd May 2007, Neath Athletic were crowned champions and subsequently it was confirmed that the club had been promoted to the Welsh Premier League for the 2007-08 season.

The President of the club is Peter Hain M.P. until recently Secretary of State for Wales, as well as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. The Life Vice-President is David Maddock who has been associated with the club and its predecessors (as player, committeeman, and secretary) for almost 55 years.

The home ground was Llandarcy Park until 2008 when the club agreed a deal to move to The Gnoll, home of the towns rugby club Neath RFC. It is hoped that this can aid an extensive redevelopment of the ground, enabling it to host European football in future years to come.[1]
