Neal Turner was born in 1964 in Miami, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1995 with a Masters of Arts in Political Science and moved to Paris, France, to study painting. A self-taught artist, Neal Turner is known for his portraits, both in oil and ink. His work involves the use of various supports, including the pages of out-of-print books and oil paintings by other artists, mainly landscapes, which he paints over or repaints, leaving some or most of the original text or work visible. Since 1995 he has had numerous gallery shows both in France and in the United States. His work can also be seen in the film The Double Born, by director Tony Randel.
