"animism is the most widely followed religion" sounds wrong to me - it implies that there is an animist religion when there's almost certainly a varied range of practices and beliefs, and probably few people who would self-ascribe as "animist". Perhaps something like "animist religions are most widely spread" or something like that? -- Danny Yee 07:05, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes, you're probably right. I'll look up the source material. Should be "forms of animism are..." or "traditional african beliefs are.." or something. -Xed 17:29, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
The source itself may be a bit lazy here - "animism" is up there with "tribal" for misuse. -- Danny Yee 23:37, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
