Coordinates: 16°44′N 77°30′E / 16.73, 77.5 Narayanpet is a town and a Municipality of 23 Ward members council in Mahbubnagar district in Andhra Pradesh, India. The town specializes in Handloom Saree manufacturing, which is famous in India. In Narayanpet, 4 movie theatres are there.

Narayanpet is now independent constituency. Hope that MLA from Narayanpet will devote his/her time to development of the Town.

Narayanpet is craving to have at least

1. Good Transportation

  At least make "Narayanpet to Hyderabad" as State Highway

2. Enough Employement Opportunities

  This will not make youth leave town in search of employment.
  As a result Narayanpet's population will rise.

3. Railway Station

  Connect Mahabubnagar and Yadgir through Narayanpet with Railway line

4. Education

  There is no degree college for students pursuing study through English medium.
  For those who want to continue studying in english has to move out of town and relocate to
  other city. Hope that new MLA from our constituency works towards resolving this issue.
  
  Few years back there was a Engg. College. We don't know why this college moved back to Hyderabad.

Narayanpet is located at 16.73° N 77.5° E^[1]. It has an average elevation of 431 metres (1414 feet).

As of 2001 India census^[2], Narayanpet had a population of 37,529. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Narayanpet has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 49%. In Narayanpet, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Telugu and Urdu are primary languages for communication. In older days Narayanpet had schools teaching "Marathi". Now trend has changed medium of communication in schools is now "Telugu", "English", "Hindi"

Everyone should come together for betterment of Narayanpet. A town which is not developing as fast as neighboring towns like Yadgir, Gurmitkal. I urge to all who has political contact, to get at least a railway station or national highway through Narayanpet. Dont forget the town even if you left your place in search of employement. Local government bodies should work hard to generate possible employement opportunities for the poor so that they do not settle on leaving the town this needs huge political backing.

Please work hard for development of our beloved town. We can all together make it possible.
