Namsskogan is a municipality in the county of Nord-Trøndelag, Norway.
Namsskogan was separated from Grong July 1, 1923.
North from Namsskogan, the E6 road enters Nord-Norge.

The name was created in 1923. The first element is the name of the river Namsen, the last element is the plural form of skog m 'wood'. The meaning is 'the woodlands around Namsen'.
