[edit] Origins
Theories abound as to the origins of different types of mythic humanoids. One could be misidentification with animals of today. Others could be based on extinct animals. Another possibility is that some might have arisen from human diseases and deformities such as dwrafisim, con-joined twins, and gigantism among others. Some could be purely fantastic.
