Many sightings have been reported in forested areas of the country, describing a black creature with white feet and hands. [1] It has been reported in the forests around Mount Hiba in Hiroshima Prefecture and said to resemble a gorilla.[2]

This creature was featured in a 2005 movie, Dear Hinagon, directed by Takayoshi Watanabe.
