[edit] Spelling
do we use "Mysuru" or "Mysooru" as we do for Bengalooru? Bdeepu 07:43, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Officially, it is Mysuru as per this -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 08:32, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mention about name Mysuru becoming official
I believe, there needs to be a mention about official renaming of the city's name from Mysore to Mysuru. Right now, the article just says officially Mysuru in lead, and doesn't give any explanation later. We could take references used in Bangalore article I guess. [edit] Lead
I think it would be appropriate to mention "Mysore is the third largest city in Karnataka in terms of population" in the first sentence rather than just saying "One of the largest cities in Karnataka". Here is the reference. Gnanapiti 17:32, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- It is actually the second largest, I have added that info with citation. -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 10:44, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Nandi @ Chamundi betta
I have a couple of images of Nandi. Can/Do we fit one of these somewhere in the article? The Nandi, I believe actually underwent an elaborate ritual cleaning process and I think it really looks fresh and new :)

- Awesome pictures! One of these can be easily incorporated into the article. Thanks Sarvagnya, for these pictures. - KNM Talk 06:13, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

- Well, taking a fresh look at the article now, it didn't appear that easy to put in a new image, as all the sections are already equipped with the relevant good images. Only possibility is to consider replacing Chamundi Hills image with one of these Nandi images. Any comments / thoughts? - KNM Talk 06:19, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- "...as all the sections are already equipped with the relevant good images..." - :) that's precisely why I started this discussion. Or I'd have pushed them into the article by now :) .. Actually replacing the Chamundi hills image is not a bad idea because that image really doesnt show anything distinctive.. it could be any hill. right? Also this Nandi is part of the Chamundi hill and then we have the race course pic which is the view from chamundi hill. So Chamundi hills is embedded into all these by default. - The only replaceable photo according to me is the Chamundi temple one in the Demographics section. Personally, I would prefer Chamundi Hills pic to be there because it is a "geographical icon" of Mysore visible from almost anywhere in the city :) -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 09:56, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- hmm.. you do have a point. Sarvagnya 10:13, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

- This article may need to undergo summary style, where a series of appropriate subpages are used. For example, if the article is United States, then an appropriate subpage would be History of the United States, such that a summary of the subpage exists on the mother article, while the subpage goes into more detail.[?]
-
- Not relevant. This article is about a city. Creating sub-articles for each and every section would be an over-kill -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 06:31, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Update
As many comments have been addressed, I'll place here an updated PR, to ensure that the comments have been addressed completely. The result is clear. Great!

Done. As per this and WP:MOSDATE, there is no clear guideline on whether single years should be wikilinked or not. I have ensured that stand-alone months and days are not wikilinked.
