Mykola Dyletsky

Mykola Dyletsky (Ukrainian: Микола Дилецкий, Russian: Николай Павлович Дилецкий, Polish: Mikołaj Dylecki) (born c.1630, Kiev – c.1690, Moscow), was a famous Ukrainian Baroque composer. He wrote an influential book entitled simply A Musical Grammar, first published in 1675, which expounded the basis of Western Music Theory. His name is also translated as Nikolai Diletsky.
