[edit] Originally

"Originally patients were classified as having sepsis or the sepsis syndrome. This resulted in two concepts: the systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS).[1]"

Lacking any medical background, it's hard to see how the original classification of patients as having sepsis "resulted in two concepts" -65.87.169.2 22:55, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry

Oh man! I'm so sorry! I was editing the gut hypothesis section only, and the rest of the article somehow got deleted! I don't even know how it happened! Once again, this was purely an accident, and I apologise profusely. The Updater would like to talk to you! 09:43, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
