- March 9, 1927 Opened as Mukaigawara Station (向河原駅).
- August 5, 1940 The station was renamed to Nihon-Denki-mae Station (日本電気前駅).
- April 1, 1944 The station was renamed to the present name along with nationalization.
- February 1, 1973 Freight services were discontinued.
- April 1, 1987 Because of JNR's becoming private and division, JR East started to operate this station.
