[edit] Proposed merger

Merge There are no separate pages for individual Fox Sports Net or even Comcast Sports Net articles. Info on national FSN programming is on the main FSN page, and the local aspects are on the MSG Network page. Milchama 18:59, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Requested move

FSN New YorkFox Sports Net New York – Although the onscreen designation has since 2004 has been FSN instead of Fox Sports Net, that doesn't change the name of the network. Milchama 19:50, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

* Oppose - As I mentioned when moving the page back to FSN New York, the term Fox Sports Net is not used on air, and the rest of the local articles are titled as FSN blank. I feel like the name of the overall network is mostly FSN (but that abbreviation would conflict with others), even though Fox Sports Net is still used, but FSN local networks use FSN to shorten their names. bmitchelfTF 23:17, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
* Oppose - There are many articles that still says FSN Blank, although Fox Sports Net is mentioned in Fox Sports Net Ohio section. However, Fox Sports Net is FSN, and FSN is Fox Sports Net; but, most personalities and about half of commercials and logos say "FSN Blank", and the official logo says "FSN". [edit] About Long Island Lizards on FSN New York

I think the reason why Long Island Lizards game on 1:00 PM, June 16, 2007 will air on FSN New York is that because there is a conflict with the New York Mets, which is the main home of SNY. Also, this game is set to air live, but some Lizards game on television are under tape delay. However, I think the reason why Lizard's game will air live is because Lizards is the home team of this game and there is also a conflict with the Mets. This game could have aired on MSG, the main RSN of MSG Media (because there are no local sports conflicts), but, it is Lizards's choice. Takuma IshizekiTakuma Ishizeki 23:00, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

However, even though the listing said it, it showed the boxing instead, and I may have to correct it sometime. Takuma IshizekiTakuma Ishizeki 12:36, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Who has FSN New York HD?

Right now, from what I got (channel listings for FSN New York areas), only cablevision has FSN New York HD. Others do not carry such channel, but cable companies like Time Warner Cable and Comcast may carry games on FSN New York in high definition in the HD Sports or HD Specials channel (example: FSN New York HD game on MSG HD or YES HD when current MSG or YES Network program is not HD-Available for TWC of NY and NJ (MSG HD and YES HD for TWC of NY and NJ lineup also said HD Specials in the same channel)) However, I am not sure, because I live in Lynbrook, New York, which the main cable company here is Cablevision. If anyone has known that your cable provider actually has FSN New York HD (other than Cablevision), let me know, through the message. Takuma IshizekiTakuma Ishizeki 21:47, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

TWC in Staten Island (only) has FSN NY HD (TWC website listing has not been properly updated in the last few months) Other regions of TWC-NYC are still waiting for it (TWC claims it can't add it yet due to bandwidth limitations....) TWC has not utilized the HD Specials channel for FSNY games, but Comcast has. Also - MSGHD and FSNNYHD are definitely NOT on DirecTV - no matter what par of their website says - no matter what equipment you have. JustSomeRandomGuy32 19:16, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Is there a new NHL rule that makes all Rangers games available in the State of Connecticut???

When I checked the Rangers Telecast Schedule from MSG today, I found out that no Rangers games will be blacked out on FSN New York and MSG for Zone 5, which is Central Connecticut and Northeast Pennsylvania. However, there is an overflow on some games on the Zone 5. I am not sure if that affects Zone 6 (Eastern Connecticut), but I have edited anyway. Islanders and Devils games are still up to 50 games will be shown on Zone 5 (and 6). So, my question is, DID NHL MADE A NEW RULE THAT MAKES ALL RANGERS GAMES AVAILABLE IN CONNECTICUT? If I am incorrect, please undo my change. Takuma Ishizeki 20:12, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2nd Proposed Merger: Merge FSN New York with MSG Network

MSG Media has announced that FSN New York will be rebranded as MSG+ on March 10, 2008 and affiliation with Fox Sports Net will be ended. This page should be merged with MSG Network on that day because of the end of affiliation with Fox Sports Net and the new content will be exactly the same with MSG. I do not recommend the name MSG Plus as the article name because it will be part of the alternate channel of MSG (channel will still be full time). Please DO NOT merge this page until March 10, 2008. Takuma Ishizeki (talk) 20:21, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

So should ESPN 2 be merged with ESPN? It doesn't make sense to do so as it will be pretty much the same as FSNY but with a few changes. Momodamonkey (talk) 21:09, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't think it should be merged. It is a separate channel and will feature different programming from MSG. Willcoop (talk) 18:31, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Thank you guys. My decision is "No Merge." Takuma Ishizeki (talk) 22:54, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
