The link to this site is from a reference to St. Finnian of Moville. Whilst the information about St. Finnian is correct, a fundamental error has been made in suggesting that the Moville referred to is in Donegal.

There is a town of that name in Donegal, but it is not the place where St. Finnian had his monastery. That 'Moville' is is County Down and is also spelt 'Movilla'.

This was a famous monastic settlement along the Ards Peninsula.

The name 'Moville' is written in the Irish language as 'Magh Bhile' (pronounced (Ma Villa), meaning the 'Plain of the Ancient Tree'
