Mount Nirvana, at 2,773 m (9,098 ft) is the name of the highest mountain in the Northwest Territories, Canada.[1] Part of the Mackenzie Mountains, it was first climbed by Bill Buckingham and Lew Surdam in July 1965.[2] Although Buckingham gave it the name Nirvana, and it shows on alpine literature as such, as of 2008 the Canadian Government still refers to it as "unnamed peak".[2][1]
