Mother Motherland

Mother Motherland (Russian: Родина-мать, Rodina-mat’), also translated as Mother Homeland, a poetic appellation to Motherland, is the name of several monuments in various cities of the former Soviet Union.

• "Mother Motherland Is Calling" a statue on the Mamayev Kurgan commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad in Russia
• Mother Motherland (Kiev), a statue at the memorial of World War II in Kiev, Ukraine.
• Mother Motherland (Saint Petersburg), a statue at the memorial of the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery of St. Petersburg
• The monument "Mother Russia" in Kaliningrad (1974) is often erroneously referred to as "Rodina-Mat".
• "Mother Motherland Mourning over Her Perished Sons" (Родина-мать, скорбящая о погибших сыновьях), Minsk, commemorating the perished in Afghanistan, part of the Island of Tears memorial complex
