Mort Meier

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mort Meier is a former Democratic Party candidate for the United States Congress who ran in Ohio's 8th congressional district against John A. Boehner in the 2006 House elections. He was defeated on November 7, 2006. The vote was 64% for Boehner and 36% for Meier. Boehner's donations exceeded $3,000,000 and the donations to Meier's campaign were less than $3,000. Meier entered the campaign because there was no other Republican or Democratic opposition to Boehner. Meier did not seek volunteers or intend a large campaign. With the aid of one volunteer, his campaign was basically a two man operation.

After serving more than four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, Mort studied Public Administration and Economics at American University in Washington. These studies included lab courses on Capitol Hill in seminars with Congressmen.
