[edit] User:5-11 Music
Has nothing to do with a Wikipedia User. ChetblongTalkSign 10:38, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sure it does. 5-11 Music is my private publishing company that tracks my royalties, songs, sheet music, etc. I'm not looking for business from anyone. James A Coleman MMC BMI 5-11 Music (talk) 10:43, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Delete, Wikipedia is not an advertising service. Even though the user claims not to be looking for business, this is clearly "Advertising or promotion of a business or non-Wikipedia-related organization (such as purely commercial sites or referral links)". - Keep 1) Two sentences and an email address do not qualify as anything excessive per WP:UP; 2) Bit after 15 minutes [1] into their WP career; 3) has tried to contribute to the encyclopedia; 4) no discussion on their talk page alerting them to WP policies; 5) waaay too early to make assumption on good or bad faith intentions. This is a situation where we need to give the new user enough rope before we act. On a side note, I am unsure of the notability of the user's article (James A. Coleman) and might consider an deletion discussion on that. But the user should be gently made aware of the proper procedures before we throw him to the lions.--12 Noon 2¢ 17:20, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Comment After looking at it some more, I do have some problems with his promotional username and a possible conflict of interest, but all of that can be sorted out via discussion on his talk page for the time being. But regarding the deletion of his userpage, I still back my above points.--12 Noon 2¢ 17:32, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Look, I've spent many years in the music business. The songs I've written can be verified on the BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) website. Again, 5-11 Music is a private company whose sole mission is to administer my copyrights. I am the sole owner, and the sole songwriter and am not looking for any type of business with anyone 5-11 Music (talk) 21:21, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
