Missouri's 8th congressional district encompasses rural Southeast Missouri, including the town of Cape Girardeau, the Ozark Pleateau and the Missouri Bootheel. This largely rural district is heavily Republican, George W. Bush beat John Kerry 63% to 36% in 2004.
It is represented by Republican Jo Ann Emerson.
