Missouri's fourth congressional district is in the western portion of the state and includes much of the capitol, Jefferson City as well as the eastern Kansas City suburbs.
Its current representative is Democrat Ike Skelton, who was first elected in 1976. Skelton is the current Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
