[edit] History

I added a good deal of material to the intro, but someone local should fact check it, as I haven't been in Middletown much for several years.

This entry needs a historical discussion, including when the city was founded, growth of the city, etc. Compare it to the entry for Goshen, NY, which is far more complete. --Ssilvers 02:27, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Scotchtown Branch

I am seeing references to Scotchtown Branch, NY, which Google Maps shows as being in or near Middletown. Is this a neighborhood or post office or something? -- Beland 20:49, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Scotchtown is hard to describe. It's a neighborhood of sorts; kind of a convergence of Middletown, the Town of Wallkill, Bloomingburg, and Goshen. Some of Scotchtown is in the Middletown school district, and some is in the Pine Bush district. It has its own zip code (10941) which is probably the "Scotchtown branch" (ie, Post Office branch) you're seeing. Kafziel Talk 20:58, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

There is an article called Scotchtown, New York. -- Ssilvers 17:49, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Actor Richard Kiley

It seems that he died in Middletown of Leukemia in 1999. Some sources say Warwick, but perhaps he died at Horton and lived in Warwick? Can anyone nail this down? I bet there was an obit. in the Record. Should we add him to the list of Middletown notables? Best regards, -- Ssilvers 13:39, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
