Talk:Mick Fleetwood
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I recently found out that Mick Fleetwood (senior) stayed in our house, while he was in the RAF. If Mick Fleetwood was born in 1942 (and not 1947 as some websites say), Mick Fleetwood (the main man) could well have been conceived in my house.
How could I possibly find out?

[edit] NPOV
It should be clear by looking at the article why an NPOV tag is appropriate, but apparently not.
"These by no means unique personal failings notwithstanding, Fleetwood remains one of the most flamboyant and beloved secondary figures in the world of blues-rock."
"Fleetwood drums in a sparse, solid style that has changed little since his earliest recordings in 1967 with Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. The snakey, sensuous rhythms he forged with Mac bassist John McVie have provided the common stylistic thread throughout the band's many line up changes and stylistic nuances."
"The slender, nearly seven foot Fleetwood has a striking, Rasputin-like appearance which has led to a secondary career as a TV and film actor..."
Don't remove NPOV tags without discussing it on talk, or making the changes. Ckessler 23:30, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- I removed the NPOV tag because it said that there would be discussion on the Talk page and there wasn't. Rather than chastise me I think you should look at your own actions. You shouldn't put up NPOV tags without specifying why you are putting them up. NO reason = No NPOV tag in my book. Dabbler 00:41, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
This article needs a lot of work, which I should get round to doing soon. There is clearly a problem with NPOV here, and it should be straightforward enough to clear it up while adding a reasonable resumé of Fleetwood's career, plus a discography etc. There's no point arguing about anything - I'm surprised no-one's had a go at it yet. [edit] Height
The article refers to him as "the slender, nearly seven foot Fleetwood". However, a Google search finds several sites (http://members.shaw.ca/harbord/heights.html, http://www.growtall.com/height-of-tall-people.htm, and his biography on IMDB.com) that give his height as 6'5" - certainly tall, but definitely not "nearly seven feet". Is there any verifiable source for the "nearly seven foot" claim? Dsreyn 13:31, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Date of Birth
I dont know where on Earth 1942 came from, but the vast majority of Fleetwood Mac fans and biographers state the year of Fleetwood's birth as 1947. I read somewhere that he was 15 when he first heard The Beatles, so that would seem to corroborate this information. I suggest some better research. And sorry to the person who thinks he may have been conceived in your house!

- Yes, 1947 is the date stated in Mick Fleetwood's autobiography "My life and adventures in Fleetwood Mac". I trust that Mr Fleetwood knows his date of birth--granted it's possible that he made himself 5 years younger (as some have put him down for 1942); however, further details in his autobiography suggest that 1947 is correct, such as the fact that his father was in the RAF during the war, and that he moved to London in 1963 when he was 16.Malljaja 20:57, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

- I live in Redruth, where Fleetwood was born, and I have seen his birth certificate - there was a situation a couple of years ago where Fleetwood had lost his certificate and it illegally came up for auction. It was returned to him, but I was able to check it with the one in the records office - it was authentic - and it stated 1947. Bretonbanquet 21:12, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Secondary career as a TV and film actor
Main page mentions appearances in Star Trek: The Next Generation for a single episode. I thought he had a re-occuring role an Deana Trio's mothers/ porter/butler - only seen with the mother in the transport room for arrival and departure. He never had any speaking lines. [edit] Fleetwoods bar in Alexandria, Virginia, USA
Didn't Mick own a bar in Alexandria during the late 1990's? —Preceding unsigned comment added by SolarAngel (talk • contribs) 09:28, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
