Michael William Tuckman, former president/general manager of KONG-TV (1993 through 2000) in Seattle, WA and current president of West Coast Sports, LLC, is the present owner of the Continental Basketball Association team Great Falls Explorers. The Explorers were purchased in November 2007 from Apex Sportstainment, present owners of the Minot SkyRockets [1]. West Coast Sports also hold expansion rights to the Vancouver Dragons. Tuckman previously owned the now defunct Bellevue Blackhawks and Tacoma Navigators of the American Basketball Association. In 2005, he was named ABA executive of the year the same season his Blackhawks played in the ABA championship game only to lose to the Arkansas RimRockers in front of 15,000 fans at Alltel Arena in North Little Rock, AR.

Tuckman and Puget Sound Sports and Entertainment, LLC (PSSE) were linked with arena developments in Bellevue, WA and Olympia, WA.

Recently, it has been reported that Tuckman is interested in fielding a new afl2 franchise in Everett, WA to replace the Everett Hawks along with a CBA franchise (tentatively called the Admirals) both of whom would play at Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center [2]. Long-term plans call for sister afl2 and CBA teams in Kent, WA.

Educated at the University of Oregon, Tuckman is an attorney who represented several San Francisco 49ers players in the 1980s. In 1989, he authored the national bestseller, The San Francisco 49ers: Team of the Decade. In 1992, Tuckman served as Chairman of the Facilities Committee on San Francisco Mayor Frank Jordan's Blue Ribbon Task Force on Sports. That year he was also named as Chairman of the Giants Stadium Committee, which was organized to build a new ballpark for the San Francisco Giants. In 1993, Tuckman was part of a private consortium led by Safeway Chairman Peter Magowan that bought the San Francisco Giants from MLB in 1993 [3]

In November of 2007 Tuckman assumed ownership of the Great Falls Explorers of the CBA. After 30 games, many unpaid bills, two coaches and more than 40 players, Tuckman suspended the teams operations. He left Great Falls with a large number of debts and no information on whether or not the team will return. He is a real class act, he is incapable of telling the truth to anybody. This guy is NOT a Lawyer, he never went to law school (check the bar association). Isn't it illegal to represent yourself when you are not one? This is an insult to his father who is a REAL attorney and put himself through Law School driving a taxi cab. BEWARE!!! Do NOT get involved with him in any business measure. He will tell promises of big money, but he will only take your money and not deliver on the goods. Remember he was named public enemy #1 by the fans in Montana! Check the message boards with all the bounced checks and debt, its no wonder he has now left Montana and went back to his home in Seattle which was already in foreclosure!
