Michael Burrows

Michael Burrows (born circa 1963) is widely known as the creator of the Burrows-Wheeler transform. He also was, with Louis Monier, one of the two main creators of AltaVista [1]. Burrows has worked for Microsoft [2], and now works for Google [3]. Burrows was born in Britain, and now lives in the United States, though he has chosen not to become an American citizen.
