[edit] Snake's likeness

I can sort of understand how someone might think Snake's look was based on Michael Madsen due to the facial portrait seen in the radio comm screens. But the close up of Snake's face that comes up towards the end of the attract mode intro makes it very clear that he was actually based on Mel Gibson: http://www.metalgearsolid.pl/obrazki/mg2/ssnake.gif Druff 04:36, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

The more I look at the pic, the less I can see the resemblance to Madsen. If it is based on Madsen, it's surely based on an old publicity shot of him that would still be floating around. So far I've been unable to find it. I'll continue to look, but I'm asking for citation. Druff (talk) 18:11, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Yozev Norden = Danny DeVito?!

How does the original character picture of Yosev Norden look anything like Danny DeVito? He is clearly based on Donald Pleasance aka James Bond villain Blofeld. Anyone agree?

[edit] Subsistence FAQ

Konami removed their FAQ for MGS3 Subsistence (or changed the link); an archived version can be found at http://web.archive.org/web/20060423095908/http://www.konami.com/gs/mgs3_faq.php —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.27.63.181 (talk) 16:40, 31 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] PS2 ports of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2

I was wondering if anyone knows if the versions of metal gear and metal gear 2 that came with MGS3 Subsistence are considered the official versions of the story. As we all know the new versions include some new items and some characters names were changed so I was wondering if the new versions retcon the old ones —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.78.131.67 (talk) 19:01, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

The term you're looking for is "canon", not "official". If you take into consideration The MGS3 Countdown book, which featured plot summaries based on the Mobile Phone versions released at the time, and Metal Gear Acid games, I'm guessing the new versions takes precedent over the old ones in the current canon. They don't matter much though, since the MGS games barely mention them anyway. Jonny2x4 (talk) 14:37, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
