Message in a Haunted Mansion is a computer game for Game Boy Advance, based loosely on a book of the similar name. The book is part of the Nancy Drew mystery series, created in 1930 by Edward Stratemeyer. The player assumes the role of Nancy Drew; the game is viewed in Nancy's first person and takes place in San Francisco, California. The game was released in 2001.

Rose Green - The woman who owns the Victorian mansion and wants to get the place turned into a bed and breakfast by next month with her friend Abby. She is getting worried though because of the many accidents happening around the mansion.

Abby Sideris - A friend of Rose who is helping out with renovations. She is very spiritual, believes in ghosts and holds a séance at one point in the game.

Charlie Murphy - A young workman who said he is living with friends and helping with renovations. He stays down in the basement most of the time and his rates are very cheap. Could he be hiding something?

Louis Chandler - An antique dealer who runs "Chandler Interiors" specializing in the Victorian Period. He works in the library looking through the books and is helping Rose with authentic decor. He doesn't say all he knows.

Nancy is helping Rose, a friend of Nancy's house maid, get settled into an old Victorian mansion in San Francisco and with renovations. But strange accidents are happening, and it's up to Nancy to figure out who, or what, is trying to scare everyone away.
