Meridas (real name Vladimir Socha) was born on January 1st, 1982 in Hradec Králové (eastern Czech Republic). He's graduate at the University of Hradec Králové (UHK) and gained diploma (title "Magister"). He also works as a part-time teacher on the elementary school. His main interests lie in paleontology, biology and history. He's also particularly interested in athletics (track and field).

He publishes articles in magazines and currently is writing his own book on dinosaurs.
