Mert Korkmaz (born August 16, 1971 in İstanbul) is a footballer who currently plays for the Turkish Premier Super League club İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor as a defender, known for his fighting spirit and professional approach to the game.
A product of Galatasaray's youth system, Mert is the younger brother of Galatasaray legend Bülent Korkmaz (also a defender), having himself played there from 1993-1997. He went on to represent Kocaelispor, Gaziantepspor and Malatyaspor.
Korkmaz was capped five times by Turkey.
