[edit] Colours

I know why gloves are coloured purple or blue, its so the wearer can see if there is a tear in them, so theres another reason certain hospitals are changing to nitrile as opposed to latex, as latex is naturally white and so is skin so it is quite hard for the wearer of latex to see if there is a tear.

I will probably add this information to the article soon.

But feel free to add it for me.

I have never heard that before. According to Kimberly-Clark, their Purple Nitrile gloves are purple so they are readily identified as being latex-free. Mike6271 02:08, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
I know i wanted them to say it (purple being easy to see a tear in) on their website so i could cite that source but they dont. But years ago in first aids classes thats what they told my about why they are purple. Also since Kimbley-Clarke makes these gloves their going to be biased (slightly) saying that everyone knows these are latex-free, when no one does!
