Max Ramírez
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maximiliano R. "Max" Ramirez (born October 11, 1984 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela) is a minor league baseball catcher who plays for the Frisco RoughRiders in the Texas League, an affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Ramirez is most notable for having been traded twice for veteran major league players despite only being in Single A at the time of each trade. It is very rare for a player to be traded "straight up" for a Major League player from Single A and even rarer for it to happen twice to the same player.
Ramirez has been an All-Star selection in three different leagues - Appalachian (2005), Sally (2006), and Carolina League (2007). He also played in the 2007 Futures Game. He was named the Appalachian League Player of the Year in 2005.
In 2006, Ramirez was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Cleveland Indians for Bob Wickman. In 2007, he was traded by Cleveland to the Texas Rangers for Kenny Lofton.
