Maurice was the third Lord Chancellor and Lord Keeper of England, as well as Bishop of London.

He was Archdeacon of Rouen before being named Chancellor in about 1078.[1] He held the office until sometime between 1082 to 1085.[2] He was nominated to the see of London on December 25, 1085 and consecrated in 1086, possibly on April 5. He died on September 26, 1107[3] with his death being commemorated on September 26.[1]
