[edit] Half-Life 2: Combine Mod

Hi Matthew, in reply to your message: I removed the bulk of the text because encyclopedia articles on fiction should be written from an out-of-universe perspective. By that I mean, plot and characters are of lesser importance compared to independently verifiable, out-of-universe material like magazine reviews, staff interviews, game development etc. See WP:Writing about fiction for more information.

Also, if you are personally involved with a subject you are strongly discouraged from writing about it at all. Wikipedia has a neutral point of view policy, and this can be seen as self-promition. The opening statement Please Do Not Edit This Article, That Would Be Disappointing. Please Leave The Editing To The Creators. shows a conflict of interest and I urge you to read WP:COI. Hello Matthew, perhaps the VDC would suit you better, although it is a wiki too, meaning that the principle is that everyone is allowed to edit articles. --Pizzahut2 (talk) 12:47, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Half-Life 2: Combine Mod

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Half-Life 2: Combine Mod, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Manhackhl2.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Manhackhl2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 15:23, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:250px-Prop_vehicle_apc.jpg

I have tagged Image:250px-Prop_vehicle_apc.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 15:41, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I have tagged Image:Combine_helicopter.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Combine helicopter.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Combine helicopter.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:12, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
