[edit] Good Article

This is a good article, however I would prefer someone add more information. --Scotteh 11:06, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

The other band member articles need more information too. Some moderators don't let you add certain information though. They ask you to fill it out, and then they go and delete what you add. Still, this one does need more info. RoryS89 22:39, 16 June 2006 (UTC)RoryS89

[edit] Clean up?

Could someone please explain what kind of clean up is needed? What do they mean by clean up? They never leave details of what they want, just a box posted on top of the page. Could someone please explain or clarify what kind of clean up is wanted? I'm not trying to be mean here, I just would like to know if someone can help in this situation.RoryS89 14:42, 23 September 2006 (UTC)RoryS89

It means that the page is not organised. Content is not in the right place. Personally, I think it's a great article.

[edit] "Matty T"

I just call him "Matt-T" (Matty)

Is information about nicknames some fans have for Matt really worthy of mention on Wikipedia? I mean, I could call him "Love Muffin" or "SpongeBob" if I wanted to, but that obviously isn't something that should be mentioned on here. I know those examples were a bit extreme, but I was simply trying to make a point. What does everyone else think? --Mears man 04:02, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, I don't know if they really should include that, but Matt usually signs the blogs on thier website as "Matty T." Thought I have never heard anyone call him "T-Sun." -Chrissyy

[edit] Extended Family?

There's a sentence in the article regarding Thiessen's extended family, which reads "Matt's extended family consists of his aunt, Nettie Thiessen, and her daughters, Bev, Bonnie, and Lynn." It seems have almost been randomly thrown into the article. Should this be removed, or possibly just moved to a different part of the article? There seem to be several other things that were just haphazardly thrown into the article, and they probably need to be addressed as well, but this one stuck out to me for some reason. --Mears man 02:39, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Relationship Status

Does anyone know anything about Matt Thiessen's current relationship status, whether he be single, in a relationship, engaged, or married? This is something I've been trying to find some reliable information on for some time now, but I've yet to find a consistent answer to this question. —Mears man 17:44, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

he's engaged! Obviously i check up what ppl ask since i am his future wife! Mckinnon Theissen—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.70.128.168 (talkcontribs) 22:34, 7 May 2007 (UTC).

OMG! He's engaged?! Wait till i tell the girls! They'll go nuts!!!!!!!!!- Maymi Hatake

Do you have a source that you could share with me to verify that claim? I'd like to see where you heard that, and I'd also like to see if there's a way that the information could be working into the article, but, without a source, I can't add it. Like I said, this is something I've had trouble finding reliable information about, seeing as I've heard people say both that he's single and that he's in a relationship, but, as of yet, neither side has been able to provide a reliable source for the information. —Mears man 04:37, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

He has said that he has a girlfriend, but I've never heard anything about them being engaged. He talks about her in this flip-book: http://www.flip.com/people/flipbooks/38918 (page 2)-Chrissyy

Well I read a interview that said he is in a relationship and might get married so no engagement as far as I know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.119.72.147 (talk) 05:54, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Social Distortion

Is the following passage really necessary?

Thiessen said of the song "Wake Up Call," "At one point in my life, I was about 15 years old, God started, really tugging on my heartstrings... I was in a band at the time. It was actually a Nirvana, Filter, Marilyn Manson cover band. It was pretty funny. We called ourselves 'Social Distortion'... Jesus just gave me that wake up call, and said, 'Start writing music for me.' And so, I did... If you're on your butt, get off it. Start living for Jesus."

I mean, yes, it is a good quote, but it really doesn't present any information that isn't provided in the sentence before it, and it's a bit wordy. Seeing as the article needs clean-up as it is, I think it might be best to remove the quote itself and simply add any pertinent information to the sentence before it. Any other thoughts? —Mears man 00:15, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Seeing as it's been over a month since I first raised this question and nobody has responded, I went ahead and removed the quote. If anyone feels that it should be part of the article, feel free to share. —Mears man 03:57, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Well, it really tells of how they became a Christian band and started writing Christian music. -Chrissyy

Yes, and the article already discusses that, but this quote was put at the end of the sentences discussing that, and I felt that it was just taking up space without providing any new information, and the article has been tagged as needing clean-up, so that's why I went ahead and removed it. —Mears man 20:46, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Drums

If Matt can play the drums how come they had a seperate drummer and how come he never plays it I'd like to see some proof. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.29.160.8 (talk) 19:13, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree. There are a lot of instruments listed, yet the entire thing is completely unsourced. I say that if we can't find a source stating that the can play these instruments, then we should probably remove everything that he isn't credited as playing on the albums themselves. —Mears man (talk) 19:23, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Here is a list of proven instruments he plays.

1.Guitar 2.Piano 3.Bells 4.Vibra phone And why is it listed that Vocals is a instrument its a talent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.119.72.147 (talk) 22:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure why vocals is listed as an instrument, that should probably be removed. As for those instruments, did you get that from any particular source (a website you could link to, perhaps?), or are those just the ones you know he can play? From seeing him in concert I too know that he can play those instruments (well, to be completely honest I'm not sure if he played the bells or vibraphone when I saw him, it may have been another one of the band members) but if you got that from any particular source we could cite that would really help. —Mears man (talk) 23:20, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Well I have proof that he plays the Bells and Vibraphone, on the Delux edition of Five score the have a DVD recording of Faking my own suicide and he plays them in that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.119.72.147 (talk) 23:32, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Other band

In the acts section why doesn't it say anything about that project that did the song "silly shoes"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.119.78.70 (talk) 22:31, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I suppose I could be wrong, but I was always under the impression that it was Relient K that performed that song. —Mears man (talk) 03:40, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Nope, In the Relient K artical in the side project section it says that its a side projest called The makeout girls wich is made up of Matt thessin and Kevin peden. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.119.70.31 (talk) 22:19, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

So why isn't it in this artical and why doesn't it have its own atrical? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.119.70.31 (talk) 23:31, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
