Matthew Olson Guerrier (born August 2, 1978 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a major league relief pitcher, currently on the 40-man roster for the Minnesota Twins. He attended college at Kent State University and made his Major League debut on June 17, 2004.
[edit] Pitching Style
Guerrier throws 4 quality pitches. He throws a good fastball that sits 90-94. He throws a tight slider that sits in the mid 80s. He throws 2 different 12-6 curves, a big breaker that sits in the low 70s and a tight biting hook that sits 76-79. He also throws a quality changeup. Because he throws all 4 pitches and commands all of them very well, Guerrier is versatile and can pitch out of the pen or start if needed.[citation needed]
