Maseno

Maseno is a town in Kisumu District of Nyanza Province, Kenya. It is located along Kisumu - Busia highway 20 kilometers northwest of Kisumu, the provincial capital. Another road connects Maseno to Vihiga town, located 15 kilometers east of Maseno.

Maseno town is the headquarters of Maseno Division, one of four administrative divisions of Kisumu District. Maseno division has a population of 65,304, of whom 2,199 are classified as urban (1999 census [1]). Maseno is part of Kisumu county council and Kisumu rural constituency [2].

Maseno University has its main campus located in Maseno town.

Maseno is the birthplace of Raila Odinga, a Kenyan politician.
