[edit] Things on Wikipedia I have a general interest in
- DAW Books - I collect and read the books plus also maintain a DAW Books publication list at http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/index.php/ISFDB:DAW
- Black science fiction
- Speculative Fiction by Writers of Color
- Category:Speculative fiction writers of color (no longer used)
- Category:Speculative fiction novels by writers of color See delete discussion Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2008_March_20#Category:Science_fiction_by_writers_of_color_etc
- Category:Science fiction writers of color
- Category:Science fiction by writers of color - Deleted April 1, 2008 per Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2008_March_26#Category:Science_fiction_writers_of_color
- Marion Zimmer Bradley wrote a fair amount for DAW, including the Darkover series which I have not read much of.
- General of the Armies - I chanced on the page, got interested in some strange sounding claims, and have been working to clean it up.
- Related to General of the Armies are
- United States Army officer rank insignia which I ran into because the insignia, including General of the Armies, got tagged for deletion which lead me to finding that the existing images had been ripped off a copyrighted site.
- Uniformed services of the United States
- Military of the United States
- United States Army
- Officer (armed forces)
- General Officer - Army General
- List of United States military leaders by rank
- United States Army officer rank insignia
- Chief of Staff of the United States Army
- General of the Armies - Six star general
- General of the Army (United States) - General of the Army (USA) (redir) - General of the Army (is more general) - Five star general (redirects to Field Marshal) - Field Marshal (outside USA)
- General (United States) (Four star general) (page also has history of the rank/grade of "General" in general)
- Lieutenant General (United States) - Three star general
- Major General#United States - Two star general
- Brigadier General#United States - One star general
- Colonel (United States)
- Lieutenant Colonel (United States)
- Major (United States)
- Captain (United States)
- First Lieutenant#United States
- Second Lieutenant#United States of America
- I need to track down the source for the insignia images used on John J. Pershing. These images should be available on the pages for each rank along with the existing shoulder loop/strap versions. I should also to delete the 6-star image.
- Telecommunications device for the deaf - I'm nearly deaf in one ear and have a 90% loss in the other. While I don't use a TTY it's something I've been thinking about as as a backup as from time to time I'll run into a company with a call center where I have extreme difficulty following what the person is saying. Usually it's an issue of background noise in the call center, poor audio quality, unfamiliar accents, and often unfamiliar terminology making it hard to build a mental map of what words the person may be saying. Related to the TTY page are the Voice modem command set and Modem pages.

[edit] WikiMedia / Wikipedia
After a brief spate of irritation about images for some of the pages I have an interest in being deleted or proposed for deletion I started to appreciate the process as I realized that many of these images and supporting text were unsourced/uncited resulting in a quiet "revision of history through good intentions" in that someone adds text/images to Wikipedia which later gets copied to other sites and then cited. That said - here are some links collected as I develop an interest in the process.

- The deletion log's deletion reason said that it didn't have a fair use rationale. The deletion log can be difficult to find; it's a little easier for admins. Special:Log/delete is the special page where all deletion entries can be found. This is the entry you're looking for. In the undeletion log (only available to admins), it shows that User:Lee M uploaded the image on Dec. 31, 2004. I hope that clarifies the situation. Cheers. --MZMcBride 04:33, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Irrationales
The entire Wikipedia rationale thing seems rather bogus with random robots nit picking away and people essentially creating boilerplate rationales to satisfy the robots as the actual instructions about what to do are so crappy. I've spent hours trying to understand the mumbo jumbo and as I upload images so rarely it's deja vue all over again which I try to figure out a rational rationale.

[edit] Category:Science fiction writers of color
I suspect the category will get deleted soon and so here's a "screen shot" until I have time to recreate this list on ISFDB.
Science fiction writers of color. This includes African-American, American Indian, Asian, Caribbean, etc. writers whose works are in the genre of Science fiction, fantasy, and Horror.
